Being a Rock Star with Moschino

Today, my lovely readers,  I want to talk about on trend designer bags, in other worlds, someone else’s opinion on what is hot imposed on us. The past year was the craziest in terms of what bags were fashionable and what weren’t so. Almost all designers came out with ”IT” bags that we fashionistas apparently  “must buy” to be able to fit in and be on trend. But what is this magical bag ? Who is this desirable designer? And why we have to have spend thousands and thousands of pounds on one bag?

Well, these were the very questions I asked myself last year which led me to an important decision – I stopped buying bags that for no apparent reason gained ” cult” status, at the end of the day, that was the whole reason for me to become a fashion blogger to reveal my unique fashion identity styling outfits which go in parallel with my own taste and preferences rather than someone else’s ( even if they are the most respectable and “hot” designers in the world). So I tried to find substitution to all those IT bags but for a fraction of the price tag.  I seriously can’t stand the fact that when you open a fashion magazine first 100 pages are dedicated to Gucci, Chanel , Saint Laurent, Prada and Chloe bags. There are lots of other fabulous classic brands that simply have not been advertised by Kim K and her family but it doesn’t mean they are not in style anymore!

Let’s take Moschino. The same as Gucci, Prada, D&G, and Versace, the brand originated in Italy. Being much younger than its iconic “fellow countrymen” – ( Moschino was born in 1983, while, for instance, Gucci was founded in 1921 ) the brand quickly gained its fame and acknowledgement for their innovative, colorful – sometimes eccentric – designs. Moschino is also known for designing outfits for Olympics’ opening ceremony in Turin in 2006, creating outfits for Kylie Minogue’s 2005 Showgirl hits tour, Madonna’s 2008 Sticky & Sweet Tour and famous six  outfits for Lady Gaga Born This Way Ball tour.

My point is, we don’t have to fall for all the designer labels that we see advertised in every magazine and promoted through thousands of blogs and Instagram accounts. There are many other less expensive but still truly great brands that will keep your outfits look fresh and unique. Instead of looking the same as any other fashion blogger these days don’t be afraid of showing your ” true fashion self” wearing alternative bags. Believe me, that Gucci Dionysus bag will be forgotten in a couple of years (but you already spent on it nearly two grand 🙂
