How Can I Make My Morning Routine Less Frantic & Frustrating

You don’t have to be in full-time employment to know the intensity of a morning rush to wherever you have to be. For instance, it’s not uncommon for people to wake up and have to take the children to school, to get out and head to the gym to get a good start on the day, or to take care of a thousand other responsibilities they have to focus on.

In order to achieve that approach, it’s important to secure your morning routine in the best way. This can be easier said than done of course. After all, with so many things to attend to in the morning, you may feel frantic and frustrated trying to get it all sorted. Then you realise you’ve a toothpaste stain on your cheek and you’ve put on your sweatshirt the wrong way around. Surely there’s a better way? In this post, we’ll discuss that and more:

Get Enough Sleep

One of the main reasons mornings can be so hectic is lack of sleep. Make sure to get enough rest every night to ensure you feel refreshed and ready to start the day. Aim for 7-9 hours of sleep and establish a bedtime routine that will help you wind down and relax before sleeping – this way you can avoid the blearly eyed annoyance of the morning alarm. Avoid screens for at least an hour before bed and try reading a book or listening to soothing music instead. It will make a difference.

Invest In Your Morning Equipment

Having the right self-care equipment to hand can make things so much easier to deal with. Quality hairdryers, your skincare items placed neatly in a container or display case, your shower ready and waiting to jump into with warm towels on the towel rack, if you make sure this is prepared for you then you don’t have to dive around trying to find everything in a rush. On top of that, it’s good to prepare your outfit for the next day so you don’t have to rush around for it in the morning. That in itself can help you save time and feel much better about the whole affair. In fact, you might be surprised just how comforting this can be compared to the alternative.

Give Yourself Time

Sure, time is often limited in the morning, but sometimes it’s good to go to bed earlier and wake up thirty minutes to an hour sooner the next day. This gives you time to eat a breakfast instead of skipping it, prepare some nice coffee, perhaps even exercise and meditate a little. On top of that, you can attend work in the best mood, knowing you didn’t have to rush or injure yourself slipping over in the shower. For some, they may even prefer to read a little in the morning, brushing off the mental cobwebs that can otherwise last. This isn’t feasible for everyone, but if it is for you, that’s wonderful.

With this advice, you’re sure to make your morning routine less frantic and frustrating in the best way.
